Before the miracles, the manger, and the message of salvation, the story of Jesus began with a quiet moment — and a simple word: yes.
In the small town of Nazareth, lived a young woman named Mary. She was not a queen, not rich, not powerful. She was a humble, devout girl engaged to a man named Joseph. Her days were filled with simplicity — chores, prayer, and preparation for her future marriage.
But one ordinary day turned extraordinary.
Suddenly, a brilliant light filled her home. Standing before her was Gabriel, an angel of the Lord. He greeted her, not with fear, but with honor:
> “Greetings, O favored one. The Lord is with you.”
Mary, confused and frightened, listened as Gabriel told her something unimaginable — she would bear a child. Not just any child. A Son of the Most High. She would call Him Jesus. He would be a King, and His Kingdom would never end.

She could have said “no.”

> “How can this be?”
And when Gabriel assured her that the Holy Spirit would come upon her and that nothing is impossible with God, Mary didn’t argue.
She didn’t stall.
She simply said:
> “I am the Lord’s servant. Let it be done to me as you have said.”
